I admire and appreciate all styles of art but I have a great zeal for abstract art. The beauty of abstraction is that it requires one to find the truth and meaning beyond something representational, beyond the recognizable. It allows one to explore the deep realms of their imagination and arouses emotions in unpredictable ways. I love to challenge the capabilities of various mediums and have developed a fondness for watercolor, acrylics, and digital art. I often meld two mediums together which give my pieces more depth, texture and tone adding distinctive characteristics and personality. My digital art allows me the freedom to experiment with color and textures without wasting paint and other costly art materials. The majority of my digital pieces are created from scanned images from my acrylic and watercolor paintings. I incorporate symbolism in every piece of art I create, emphasizing meaning behind the lines, shapes, texture and colors. Of course the viewer could see and feel something completely different and that’s the beauty of art; experiencing our own emotions and thoughts. Creating abstract art gives me a perpetual freedom of expression, stepping outside the boundaries of traditional structure. It allows me to escape reality and explore unknown worlds where my imagination and creativity can run wild without consequences.
